Who needs a residence permit?
All non-Hungarian citizens, except EU/EEA nationals, must obtain a residence permit if they intend to stay in Hungary for more than 90 days.
Where can I apply?
Applicants must appear in person at the Embassy of Hungary in Pretoria, where biometric data (photograph and fingerprints) will be taken.
How will I receive my permit?
If the application is approved, the residence permit card must be collected in Budapest. A single-entry “Type D” visa will be issued in the passport to allow entry into Hungary.
