On May 9, Hungary’s newly elected National Assembly held its inaugural session. During the session, members of parliament, as well as representatives and spokespersons of national minorities, took their oaths of office, officially marking the beginning of the new parliamentary term.
Subsequently, the National Assembly elected Magyar Péter, President of the TISZA Party, as Prime Minister, making him the 60th Prime Minister of Hungary.
The new Government will begin its work with 16 ministries.
The formation of the new Parliament marks an important milestone in the functioning of Hungary’s democratic institutions and the beginning of a new governmental cycle.
